Born
on March 8 1976 at Albuquerque, New Mexico,
Freddie is the son of the famed Freddie Prinze, who was
the star of "Chico and the Man." Unfortunately, his
father committed suicide when Freddie was very young, so Freddie
never really got to know his father. Freddie enjoys martial arts,
having a trained in Kenfo, Muay Thai, and Ju Jitsu by some of
the world's greatest senses. He also is a self-proclaimed cartoon
nut. One of his all-time favorites is Spider Man. He has said
that if they make a Spider Man movie, he deserves to be Spider
Man. He also likes "Jonny Quest." Throughout his youth,
he acted in plays at eh the Albuquerque Children's Theatre and
the Due Drama Company. He attented three different schools in
his life, which were Eldorado, Sandia, and La Cueva. Freddie graduated
from La Cueva High in Albuquerque, NM in 1994. He then moved to
Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.
He first appeared in guest spots on shows like "Family Matters."
His big break came in 1994(?) when he appeared in the film "To
Gillian on Her 37th Birthday" where he played Claire Danes'
boyfriend, "Joey Bost." He has said he was extremely
nervous for their kissing scene, claiming that before they shot
it, he prayed to God to not let him puke on her!
His next film was "The House of Yes" in which he played
Parker Posey's younger brother, "Anthony." This film
was a black comedy about a Thanksgiving dinner that actually isn't
so Thanksgiving-like. Parker Posey's character is obsessed with
Jackie Kennedy, (her name is even "Jackie O"). Basically,
her other brother, "Marty," brings home his fiancee,
and "Jackie O" can't handle it, because her and "Marty"
are involved in incest. It's a fairly sick idea, but the movie
is really funny!
Then
he made the film, "I Know What You Did Last Summer."
He played Jennifer Love Hewitt's boyfriend, Ray Bronson. In the
movie, the four main characters accidentally hit a man with their
car and then dump the body into the ocean to cover it up. A year
later the four friends start getting harassed by some who knows
what they did. People run, people die, people triumph. It's a
great film! Definitely one of my favorites! Freddie also appears
in the follow-up to this film, "I Still Know What You Did
Last Summer" which takes place one year later. Jennifer Love
Hewitt's character, "Julie," wins tickets to an island
getaway and the horror starts all over again.
The
next film was the hit comedy, "She's All That." Freddie
plays the popular guy at school, "Zack Siler," who has
just been dumped by the most popular girl in school, "Taylor
Vaughn," who is played by Jodi Lynn O'Keefe. So, "Zack"
makes a bet with his friends that in six weeks he can turn any
girl in school into the prom queen. He ends up having to makeover
"Laney Boggs," played by Rachael Leigh Cook. "Laney"
doesn't like "Zack" at first, disliking all popular
people. But the more they get to know eachother, the more they
begin to like eachother. This is another great flick! It's funny,
romantic, and just an all-around fun film!
Just
released was the film, "Wing Commander," based on the
popular CD-rom. Freddie plays the lead role of "Christopher
'Maverick' Blair."
Next
up for Freddie are "Sparkler" and "Vig." They
are supposedly coming out sometime this spring/summer? Guess we'll
just have to wait!
